Ungedeckte Zinsparität im Europäischen Währungssystem
Diese Arbeit untersucht den Einfluß von Wechselkurskoordination auf die Gleichgewichtsbeziehung der ungedeckten Zinsparität. Dafür wird ungedeckte Zinsparität für die EWS-Währungen holländischer Gulden, italienische Lira, und französischer Franken und die Nicht-EWS Währungen US-Dollar, britisches Pfund und Schweizer Franken getestet. Der Beobachtungszeitraum beginnt im April 1979 und endet im Oktober 1990, alle Wechselkurse sind auf DM-Basis. Um den Einfluß von sich im Zeitablauf verstärkender Wechselkurskoordination zu erfassen, wird der Untersuchungszeitraum in zwei Teilperioden aufgespalten. Die Perioden werden so gewählt, daß in der ersten Periode die EMS-Leitkurse häufig geändert wurden, während in der zweiten Periode Leitkursänderungen seltener vorkamen und im Ausmaß geringer waren. Die a priori Vermutung, daß stärkere Wechselkurskoordination ein günstigeres Umfeld für die ungedeckte Zinsparität bietet, wird nicht bestätigt. Während für die Nicht-EWS-Währungen die Nullhypothese von ungedeckter Zinsparität nicht verworfen werden kann, wird ungedeckte Zinsparität für alle drei EWS-Währungen abgelehnt. Die Resultate sind unabhängig davon, ob für den gesamten Beobachtungszeitraum oder nur für eine Teilperiode getestet wird. Die Ergebnisse dieser Arbeit lassen vermuten, daß Währungskoordination keinen Einfluß auf die ungedeckte Zinsparität hat.
