Unternehmenskultur und Unternehmensführung: Konzeptionelle Ansätze und gesicherte Erkenntnisse
Der Aufsatz diskutiert auf der Grundlage neuerer Forschungsergebnisse den Einfluß von Unternehmenskultur auf Führungsverhalten und Entscheidungsprozesse. Kulturelle Faktoren werden hierbei als wichtige Ergänzung zu den formellen und expliziten Organisations-, Kontroll- und Planungssystemen des Unternehmens angesehen. In Erweiterung vorhandener Entwicklungsmodelle (vor allem Gagliardi und Lorsch) sind wichtige Etappen der Herausbildung eines gemeinsamen Selbstverständnisses von Führungskräften und Mitarbeitern beschrieben, die sich vor allem in gemeinsamen Wahrnehmungen, Denk- und Verhaltensweisen äußern. Im zweiten Teil des Aufsatzes steht die Bedeutung von Unternehmenskultur für die Leitung eines Unternehmens im Mittelpunkt der Betrachtungen. Im Vergleich zu den alternativen Führungsprinzipien, bürokratische Lenkung oder Steuerung durch interne Preise und Märkte, wird die Bedeutung gemeinsamer Grundnormen als Führungsprinzip gerade bei sich stark verändernden Umweltbedingungen hervorgehoben. Im dritten Teil werden einige Vorschläge zur Bildung formaler Voraussetzungen diskutiert, die es erlauben, möglichst früh und auch gerade in Zeiten großer Erfolge, die Notwendigkeit eines Kulturwandels zu erkennen, um so die Anpassungsfähigkeit des Unternehmens sicherzustellen. Zum Abschluß wird auf die Notwendigkeit weiterer Forschung in enger Kooperation zwischen Wissenschaft und Praxis hingewiesen; in Ausfüllung dieser Forderung werden einige, aus der Sicht des Autors prioritäre Forschungsfragen skizziert.
