Various Operatives Wage Payment System on Construction Projects in Ondo State, Nigeria
This study examined the various operatives wage payment system used on construction projects in Ondo state. Nigeria. It was a survey research where questionnaires were distributed to core site-based professionals in Ondo state. The study was conducted in Ondo state, Nigeria for a period of 3 months. A total of 75 questionnaires were administered to the respondents whereas 54 copies were completed, returned and found useful, thus, giving a response rate of 72%. Data garnered were analysed and presented using mean score and percentages. The study found that the level of operatives wage payments among building construction professionals in the study area is high. The study revealed that The study the prevailing operatives wage payment system are as follows: basic pay for standard hours (daily pay) or time rate, additional hours rewards (overtime), commission, bonuses, performance related pay (services) ,profit related pay, payment by results, piece rate rewards system (by units of work) and monthly salary (end of month pay)
