Verlieren die ostdeutschen Bundesländer zukünftig die EU - Strukturförderung ?

Aktuelle Zahlen von EUROSTAT zeigen, dass die ostdeutschen Bundesländer in der kommenden EU-Strukturfondsförderperiode 2014 bis 2020 ihren Status als EU-Höchstfördergebiete verlieren werden. Der Direktionsbezirk Leipzig könnte sogar jegliche Förderberechtigung verlieren, da das durchschnittliche Konvergenzniveau zu den europäischen Staaten inzwischen auf dem Niveau des oberen Schwellenwertes liegt. Die Bemessung anhand aktuell vorliegender Daten muss jedoch kritisch hinterfragt werden, da diverse Einflüsse wie die hohe Transferabhängigkeit Ostdeutschlands oder die Finanz- und Wirtschaftskrise das Bild verzerren.
