Η πληθώρα προελεύσεων των συγγραφέων είναι ενδεικτική της απήχησης και εμβέλειας του έργου και της συνεισφοράς της τιμώμενης καθηγήτριας.Τα κεφάλαια εντάσσονται σε τρεις γενικές κατηγορίες και χωρίζονται σε τρία κεφάλαια: Διοίκηση Ανθρώπινου Δυναμικού, Οργανωσιακή Συμπεριφορά και Ειδικά Θέματα στο Μάνατζμεντ. Αυτά τα αντικείμενα υπήρξαν τα κύρια επιστημονικά ενδιαφέροντα της τιμώμενης στην έρευνα και την εκπαίδευση καθ' όλη την ακαδημαϊκή της καριέρα. Το ενδιαφέρον της ειδικά για τον επιστημονικό χώρο της Διοίκησης Ανθρώπινου Δυναμικού συμβάδισε χρονικά με την ανάπτυξη του συγκεκριμένου επιστημονικού και επαγγελματικού αντικειμένου στην Ελλάδα, όπου το όνομα Παπαλεξανδρή ταυτίστηκε με την έννοια Διοίκηση Ανθρώπινου Δυναμικού. Υπήρξε πρωτοπόρος στο αντικείμενο και βοήθησε να αναπτυχθεί τόσο επιστημονικά όσο και επαγγελματικά, με την έρευνά της και τη δημιουργία του Μεταπτυχιακού στη Διοίκηση Ανθρώπινου Δυναμικού, του οποίου ήταν ιδρύτρια και διευθύντρια κατά τα δέκα πρώτα έτη λειτουργίας του
