Voraussetzungen für eine erfolgreiche Globalisierungsstrategie am Fallbeispiel des französischen Handelskonzern Lyreco
Steigender Welthandel kann als einer der bedeutendsten Trends der Globalisierung gesehen werden. Viele Handelsunternehmen haben ihr Auslandsengagement seit Beginn der neunziger Jahre intensiviert und erwirtschaften den Großteil ihres Umsatzes außerhalb ihrer Stammländer. Vor dem Hintergrund der stetig zunehmenden Relevanz der Internationalisierung von Unternehmen und der Globalisierung der Weltwirtschaft stehen Handelsunternehmen vor der Herausforderung sich eine globale Denkweise anzueignen, denn um weltweit eine bedeutende Stellung innerhalb der eigenen Branche einzunehmen, genügt es nicht, durch die Erschließung neuer Märkte eine globale Präsenz aufzubauen, da sich diese nicht automatisch in einen Wettbewerbsvorteil umsetzen lässt. Handelsunternehmen müssen sich neben länderübergreifenden strategischen Fragen, wie der Auswahl der Markteintrittsform und der Gestaltung der Marktbearbeitung, auch mit Problemstellungen bezüglich der Differenzierung gegenüber Wettbewerbern auseinandersetzen. Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es, anhand des Fallbeispiels des französischen Handelsunternehmens Lyreco, das in der Bürobedarfsbranche tätig ist, die Voraussetzungen für eine erfolgreiche Globalisierungsstrategie zu erörtern. Folgende Fragestellungen werden im Hinblick auf die Voraussetzung für eine erfolgreiche Globalisierungsstrategie beantwortet: Wie erreicht Lyreco ein überdurchschnittliches Wachstum mit einfach austauschbaren Produkten in einem gesättigten Markt? Lässt sich mit so einfachen Produkten überhaupt eine Globalisierungsstrategie durch-setzen? Wie stark ist der Globalisierungsdruck in der Bürobedarfsbranche und wie reagiert Lyreco als „global player“ darauf ? Was macht Lyreco anders als die Wettbewerber? Handelt es sich um eine klassische Globalisierungsstrategie – bzw. was sind im konkreten Fallbeispiel die Besonderheiten und was waren die bisherigen Voraussetzungen? Wird durch Lyreco die Hypothese bestätigt, dass auch in einer globalisierten Wirtschaft ein Großhandelsbetrieb durch seine Funktionen und Risiken erfolgreich sein kann?
