Weltwirtschaft im Frühjahr 2023: Hartnäckige Inflation, gebremste Expansion
Die Erholung der Weltwirtschaft von den Auswirkungen der Corona-Pandemie ist im Jahr 2022 unter dem Eindruck hoher Energiepreise und großer Unsicherheit erst einmal zu Ende gegangen. Bremsend wirkt inzwischen zunehmend auch die Geldpolitik, die zwar recht spät, aber dann ausgesprochen rasch gestrafft wurde und angesichts eines weiterhin hohen Inflationsdrucks wohl noch weiter angezogen werden wird. Die Weltproduktion legte zum Jahresende hin nur schwach zu und dürfte im laufenden Jahr trotz einer spürbaren Belebung in China nur mäßig expandieren. Gemessen auf Basis von Kaufkraftparitäten rechnen wir mit einem Anstieg von 2,5 Prozent, nach einem Zuwachs von 3,2 Prozent im vergangenen Jahr. Damit haben wir unsere Prognose für das Jahr 2023 gegenüber unserer Dezemberprognose um 0,4 Prozentpunkte erhöht, zum einen weil sich die Lage an den Energiemärkten deutlich entspannt hat, zum anderen weil sich die Wirtschaft in den Vereinigten Staaten als robuster erwiesen hat als erwartet. Für das Jahr 2024 liegt unsere Prognose unverändert bei 3,2 Prozent. Die Inflation dürfte zwar in den kommenden Monaten dank der wieder niedrigeren Rohstoffpreise deutlich sinken, der zugrunde liegende Preisauftrieb dürfte aber vorerst hoch bleiben und allenfalls gegen Ende des Prognosezeitraum wieder in die Nähe der Zielmarken sinken.
