Weltwirtschaft in Sommer 2024 : Konjunkturgefälle nimmt ab

Die Weltwirtschaft expandierte im bisherigen Verlauf des Jahres in moderatem Tempo. Dabei haben sich vor allem in den fortgeschrittenen Volkswirtschaften die zuvor ausgeprägten Unterschiede in der konjunkturellen Dynamik verringert. Während die kräftige Konjunktur in den Vereinigten Staaten an Fahrt verlor, belebte sich die Wirtschaft in Europa nach einer Phase der Stagnation spürbar. Gleichzeitig zog auch die Produktion in China merklich an, wenngleich viele Indikatoren darauf hindeuten, dass die private Nachfrage im Inland weiterhin wenig Schwung entfaltet. Bei alledem legte der Welthandel wieder leicht zu. Im Prognosezeitraum dürfte sich die moderate weltwirtschaftliche Expansion fortsetzen, wobei vor allem in Europa ein angesichts wieder steigender Reallöhne anziehender privater Konsum Impulse gibt. Im kommenden Jahr wird sich wohl auch zunehmend bemerkbar machen, dass die Geldpolitik allmählich gelockert wird. Alles in allem erwarten wir einen Anstieg der Weltproduktion - gemessen auf Basis von Kaufkraftparitäten - von 3,2 Prozent in diesem ebenso wie im nächsten Jahr. Damit haben wir unsere Prognose für das Jahr 2024 gegenüber unserer Märzprognose um 0,4 Prozentpunkte angehoben, die für 2025 blieb unverändert. Die Arbeitslosigkeit in den fortgeschrittenen Volkswirtschaften steigt in diesem Jahr zwar leicht an, bleibt aber auf historisch niedrigem Niveau. Die Inflation ist zuletzt vor allem aufgrund eines hartnäckigen Anstiegs der Preise für Dienstleistungen kaum noch gesunken. Der erwartete weitere Rückgang in Richtung der Zielmarke von 2 Prozent dürfte sich nur langsam vollziehen, und das Risiko ist gestiegen, dass die Geldpolitik länger restriktiv bleiben muss als bislang erwartet. Weitere Risiken für die Weltkonjunktur sind vor allem geopolitischer Natur und ergeben sich nicht zuletzt aus den Unwägbarkeiten im Zusammenhang mit den USPräsidentschaftswahlen. So würde eine Zuspitzung von Handelskonflikten die weltwirtschaftliche Aktivität belasten.
