Ludger Wößmann, Leiter des Bereichs Humankapital und Innovation und Professor an der LMU, unterstrich die Bedeutung von Bildung für die wirtschaftliche Wettbewerbsfähigkeit. Seiner Ansicht nach liegt ein zentraler Ansatzpunkt sowohl für ein hohes Leistungsniveau als auch für ausgeglichene Bildungschancen im Wettbewerb zwischen den Bildungseinrichtungen, der durch Wahlfreiheit für die Eltern und freie Trägerschaft der Schulen bei öffentlicher Finanzierung entstehe.
