Whether Drop Out of Members will affect the Sustainability SHGs? A Case Study in Vellore District, India

SHGs are effective in reducing poverty, empowering women, creating awareness to improve health and ensure sustainability of environment which finally results in sustainable development of the nation. This paper analyses the drop out of members from SHGs and its impact on the sustainability of the SHGs in Vellore district, Tamil Nadu, India. The study concludes that drop out of members from the SHGs will affect the sustainability of SHGs in India which is the homeland of SHGs and it suggests some measures to be taken immediately by the Self Help Promoting Institutions
