Wirtschaft und Wissen
Zusammenfassung Die Abhandlung zielt auf die Darstellung des möglichen Beitrags der Nationalökonomie zur wirtschaftlichen Nutzung des Wissens für Innovationen ab. Den Ausgangspunkt bilden Erörterungen im Anschluß an die Begründung des Fachs durch Adam Smith, die an der Arbeitsteilung angesetzt haben. Damals wurde von kritischen Autoren die Wissensteilung (division of mental labour) der Arbeitsteilung entgegengestellt, eine Problematik die Friedrich A. von Hayek später auf eine neue Weise gelöst hat. Diese Versuche sind, obwohl das Wissen die wichtigste Ressource für Innovationen darstellt, bisher noch nirgendwo weitergeführt worden. Eine neue Chance dafür bietet sich jetzt mit der Neuen Institutionenökonomik. Für die auf unterschiedlichen Ebenen ablaufende gesellschaftliche Zusammenarbeit wird der allgemeinere Begriff der Interaktion verwendet. Der Terminus der Transaktion wird auf Tauschhandlungen beschränkt. Eine Taxonomie für die Interaktionen im Rahmen der Wissensteilung steht im Zentrum des Beitrags. In erster Linie geht es um die beiden Formen des Wettbewerbs: wirtschaftlicher Wettbewerb und Reputationswettbewerb, ferner um deren unterschiedliche institutionenökonomischen Regeln. Die abschließenden Betrachtungen zum Wissensmanagement und zur Hochschulpolitik sollen die Anwendungsmöglichkeiten des vorgeschlagenen Begriffsapparates zeigen.
