Women and Economic Development : Women Entrepreneurship Situation in Haiti

Women's role in economic development is commonly admitted. But in many countries, women's economic activities are still an extension of historical domestic occupation. In this article, we analyze the Haitian women entrepreneurial situation and show that women empowerment currently claimed by many actors is more romantic than economically pragmatic since women stay in poverty and undervalued business
