Urbanization is altering the picture, yet rural regions remain far off. Rural women are overcoming the restraints that have kept them at home, but it's still early. More rural women are starting businesses. With this in mind, researchers wanted to know what pushes a rural woman to become an entrepreneur: an inner desire or a compelling scenario. Semi-urban revenue circles in Rajkot district were studied. 150 women entrepreneurs were surveyed on their motivations and the influence of family.
