Workplace Ostracism and Deviant Behavior in China : Self-esteem as the Mediator and Moderator

This paper discusses the mechanism of workplace ostracism and deviant behavior and focuses on the influence of based-organization self-esteem and social self-esteem on deviant behavior under workplace ostracism. Through analyzing 209 samples, the empirical study indicates that workplace ostracism has a significant and negative impact on deviant behavior, and the results also demonstrate that based-organization self-esteem takes the role as a mediator in the relationship between workplace ostracism and deviant behavior. Meanwhile, the moderating effect of social self-esteem has been substantiated
