Zur Entwicklung der Sparquoten der privaten Haushalte : eine Auswertung von Haushaltsdaten des SOEP

Seit dem Jahr 2001 ist die Sparquote aus der Volkswirtschaftlichen Gesamtrechnung (VGR) wieder kontinuierlich angestiegen, nachdem sie zuvor von 1991 an stetig gefallen war. Da dieser Anstieg eher unerwartet war, ist die Frage von besonderem Interesse, ob sich die Sparquote über die gesamte Bevölkerung hinweg erhöht hat oder ob der Anstieg der aggregierten Sparquote der Tatsache geschuldet ist, dass sich das Sparverhalten bestimmter sozioökonomischer Gruppen im letzten Jahrzehnt unterschiedlich entwickelt hat. Datengrundlage des Projekts sind die Haushaltsdaten des Sozio-oekonomischen Panels (SOEP) für die Jahre 1995 bis 2007. Die Analyse der SOEP-Haushaltssparquoten, differenziert nach verschiedenen sozioökonomischen Merkmalen, zeigt: Die Haushaltssparquoten entwickeln sich je nach Erwerbsstatus des Haushaltsvorstands sehr unterschiedlich. Eine Unterscheidung nach Altersklassen ist dagegen nicht sehr aufschlussreich. Der beobachtete Anstieg der aggregierten Sparquote ist alleine auf das veränderte Sparverhalten der Haushalte im obersten Einkommensquartil zurückzuführen, während die Sparquoten der Haushalte in den anderen drei Einkommensquartilen tendenziell gefallen sind.
