Zur Risikobereitschaft privater Geldanleger Die Risikobereitschaft deutscher Geldanleger ist gering: Geringer, als nach rationalen Kriterien zu erwarten wäre, und geringer, als aus volkswirtschaftlicher Perspektive zu wünschen wäre. Dieser Beitrag analysiert daher anhand einer annähernd repräsentativen Stichprobe von 518 Geldanlegern die Determinanten risikobereiter Geldanlage. Nach einer Beschreibung risikobereiter Anleger anhand demographischer Variablen wird die Erklärungskraft von fünf hierarchisch strukturierten Variablengruppen überprüft: (1) die finanzielle Situation, (2) wirtschaftliche Erwartungen, (3) die allgemeine Sparmentalität, (4) spezifische Motivationen der Geldanlage sowie (5) Kompetenz und Kontrollüberzeugung im Finanzbereich. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, daß psychologische Konzepte einen weit höheren Erklärungsbeitrag leisten als demographische oder ökonomische Faktoren. Vor allem die Anlagemotivation ist entscheidend: Renditestreben, Leistungsmotivation, Risikosuche sowie Interesse fördern den Aktienbesitz, während Bequemlichkeit ein wichtiger Hemmfaktor ist. Förderlich ist auch die objektive und die subjektive Kompetenz. Dagegen sind wirtschaftliche Erwartungen eher unbedeutend. Ebenso steht eine ausgeprägte Sparneigung nur in geringem Widerspruch zu einer "unsicheren" Anlage der so geschaffenen Ersparnisse.
