Bottleneck to Success : Scaling up Issues of Start-Ups

The dynamic growth of start-up companies in India has caused major disruption in the business landscape. At the same time, many start-ups encounter major setbacks at the scaling up stage. This qualitative study examines the problems encountered by start-up companies while scaling up the business. The results show that non- availability of financial resources, acquisition of right talent and acceptance of the product are some of the major challenges faced by the start ups while scaling up by developing a model. Further, the results indicate that government can play a major role to strengthen the start-up ecosystem. The results highlight defining problem statement, patience and risk-taking ability are the key to success for start-up company
