Change in Consumer Behavior Towards the Hotel Industry, and Surviving Strategies in Hospitality Sector Which Have Led Towards Customer Satisfaction at the Time of the Pandemic
The global disaster named COVID-19 virus have hit the world severely and have led the world towards health and economic crisis. One of the reasons for this economic crisis is as the virus is highly contagious many governments all over the world had to impose complete lockdown to shut marketplaces and public places in their countries. The countries had to also close their borders for international tourists. The restriction on travel had a huge impact on hospitality sector and the hotel industry also had been adversely affected. The earnings and the hotels and other businesses and their employees have been also affected. This have led towards change in customer behavior and preference. The study aims to analyze the change in behavior and their satisfaction with some of the strategies the hotels adopted. A self-made questionnaire was circulated to some of the customers who travelled during the pandemic.The responses were analyzed using the Jamovi software. The key findings of the study were that service which were found to be significant were the handling of customers luggage, sanitizing the public and guest room, in room dining. The other two were not found to be significant which were mobile check in, contact less payment as compared to the other three
