Effect of Islamic Work Ethics on Job Stress, Turnover Intention and Employee Well-Being

This study was conducted to examine the effect of Islamic work ethic on job stress, turnover intention and employee well-being. Pre-determined structured questionnaires were used to collect data from 201 teachers working in government schools of Peshawar district. Islamic work ethics was measured using 17 items scale developed by Ali (1988); Job stress was measured using 13 items scale developed by Parker and De Cotiis (1983); turnover intention was measured using 3 items scale developed by Mobley, Horner and Hollingsworth (1978) and employee well-being was measured using 18 items scale developed by Ryff (1995).The alpha values for all the variables are greater than 0.60 which shows high consistency among the items. Results of simple linear regression analysis revealed that Islamic work ethics has insignificant effect on job stress and turnover intention while significant effect on employee well-being.
