L’interdépendance dans l’adaptation de systèmes : implications théoriques et méthodologiques

This research insists on systems specificity in the adaptation studies, at an industry level in particular. Traditional theories follow from a static and linear vision of adaptation. To bring new answers, three research fields are mobilized: resource based-view of the firm, punctuated equilibrium as model of change, and complexity theory as paradigmatic lens. These fields converge on the concept of interdependency. System is more than sum of its parts, relations are recursive. These multiple causal links ask for a deep theoretical and methodological reflection. First, concepts are mobilized: path dependencies, emergence and co-evolution. Then, simulation, with complex adaptive system, is considered as an alternative methodology.
