Les enjeux de la relation formation-emploi en Italie : la place du travail et des territoires

Due to its complexity and diversity, which make comparisons with other European nations uneasy, the Italian training system is a challenge for the researcher. Given the degree of autonomy which regions enjoy, each one has become the scene of contention among social actors and their particular interests. Such local infighting has been compounded by interregional competition, not to mention tensions with the central state, which continues to jealously latch onto a non-negligible share of its own prerogatives. The thesis defended here is that the peculiar configuration of the Italian labour market contributes to the multiplicity of training instruments. Current trends towards regional differentiations in employment policies and training schemes are in sync with the increasingly flexible and even individualised labour and employment market regulatory environment, which characterises the Italian peninsula
