Role-Play como estratégia de ensino de língua : a perspetiva de estudantes de Português na China (Role-play as a language teaching strategy: the perspective of Portuguese language college students in China)
Role-play methods are part of a student-centered approach and a flexible option that enhances initiative and interaction and represents an opportunity for students to play different roles and replicate real life situations in the classroom. In this way role-play can be used to foster interactive teaching and prepare students for intercultural citizenship. The literature reveals that role-playing methods used in language learning enable the development of various types of skills enabling students to take on a proactive role in the language teaching process. This research aims to study the implementation of role-plays as a teaching strategy in classes of senior college students of Portuguese graduation in Macau (China). Methodologically, questionnaires were applied to finalist students of the Portuguese degree in Macau, to promote a quantitative-qualitative analysis on this theme. The results of this research reveal that role-playing activities are a motivating factor for language learning and enhance the classroom as conducive to the development, in a contextualized and interactive way, of interpersonal, language and cultural skills
