The Effect of Educational Research on Classroom Instruction

The paper responds to three charges: 1. Educational research has not made a contribution to instructional practice because researchers produce articles in journals rather than viable, well-engineered, instructional products, 2. Educational researchers are training teachers who simply accept prevailing educational practices instead of teachers who are able to experiment and evaluate. 3. Even if s/he wanted to do something dramatic, the educational researcher has no experimental schools to use as laboratories
