Social Media and Websites Use on Leisure Traveling Among Millennial

Specifically, the study arose to provide facts regarding the utilization of social media and travel websites. Individuals from the Millennial cohort who are, at the same time, working in the government sector served as respondents. They were classified based on the age (18-35) and sector. Through survey design, the questionnaires were equally administered. To measure the responses/data, the researcher applied statistical analysis. Meanwhile, female respondents dominated the sampling population, and a majority of the latter are performing teaching jobs. Initially, the researcher found out that a number of respondents are utilizing social media sites on leisure traveling, particularly Facebook, Youtube, and Google. Predominantly, these sites are used in gathering travel data, which are: travel package, a photograph of destination, hotel accommodation, and article of destination.For sources, the majority are getting information from their social media friends. Travel websites seem to need good strategies in publicizing their products or services since only a few are familiar with the given websites from forbes.com’s top list. However, some are familiar with Airbnb, a global lodging website which caters now not only hotel reservations but City tours and car rentals. Furthermore, majority of the respondents are having some leisure travel once a year, and preferring domestic over international trip, and coastal areas for place and setting. But only the age, among the socio-economic characteristics, has significant relationship to the selected leisure traveling practices of the respondents
